RECORDS were broken at the recent Silverstone Auctions event, as the two day sale generated more than £5 million and secured some of the highest prices seen to date. One highlight of the sale was a 1979 Ferrari 308 GTS, which was hammered away for a premium inclusive £82,225 - more than £50,000 over its lower estimate and a world record for the model. Nissan’s performance car skunkworks arm Nismo (short for Nissan Motorsports) has agreed a deal with Williams Advanced Engineering to co-develop faster versions of Nissan’s road cars from 2014. It doesn’t mean the Williams F1 team will be developing the forthcoming Nismo version of the GT-R, but the Formula One team and Williams Advanced Engineering are part of the same group founded by Sir Frank Williams.
